In 1985, a collective of young unemployed people living in Cranhill produced Clyde Film, a poetic history of the people of Glasgow told only in music and images, and set against scenes of failed regeneration. The film premiered in Moscow at the World Festival of Youth and Students before screening at GFT. To mark the 30th anniversary of this quietly raging masterpiece, GSFF has curated two programmes exploring the city’s cycle of renewal. This second programme shows the varying responses of artists and local communities to the changes thrust upon them, including Clyde Film itself.
