Offering (Red Squirrel Press) is William Bonar’s second pamphlet, a collection of poems previously published in Gutter, Aesthetica, Anon, Glasgow Review of Books, Northwords Now, The Verb (BBC, Radio 3) and other publications. Tom Leonard said of Offering: “…like…W.S. Graham’s work before him, there is the sense of the ground felt under the feet, objects…gauged…by a considering eye.” Jim Carruth, Glasgow’s Poet Laureate, added: “You cannot help but trust a poet who treasures the briefest moments…and works them back to the very essence…” And in a recent review, Keith Parker said, “…we journey from Scotland to Africa, from present…to past…, from calm meditation to strong emotion. Short poems mainly…in spare form and language, but done with precision…with an exactness that makes you know this is a work…worth considering.” (Poetry Talk)

Eveline Pye’s debut pamphlet, Smoke That Thunders, is published by Mariscat Press and covers the time she worked in the Zambian Copper Industry. Liz Lochhead, her mentor under the Clydebuilt Mentoring Scheme, described the publication as “ A love letter full of longing for the land beyond the culture-shock. Brilliant. Informed. Informative. Celebratory. A feast for the senses. Food for thought. The best collection I’ve read in ages.” A selection of Eveline’s poems can be found at talkingwriting.com/eveline-pye-four-poems
