Exhibition: Glimmers For A Time Like This
OPEN DAY, Wednesday 25th February, 2026 3-6pm
Partick Trinity Church of Scotland , 20 Lawrence Street, Glasgow G11 5HG
The artists Wilma van der Meyden and Megan Adams plan to be present to welcome you and to give you an opportunity to be in the historic space, to experience Glimmers, and to connect on your own or with others.
Pianist William Ashworth will also be present, and a recording of his musical performance Astral Ephemera, composed in response to Glimmers, will be playing.
Everyone welcome
This temporary art installation, with its gentle movement and light reflections, was envisioned for this time of year when the days are short and the landscape is dormant. Over two thousand hanging elements have been hand-cut from discarded computer disks, shaped using heat, and framed with copper foil, transforming each piece into a precious object. These elements were then brought together and arranged over a copper framework spanning five metres, resulting in a delicate sensory display.
The hope is that Glimmers will inspire a sense of awe and assist in providing space for encounter, reflection and encouragement amidst these darker days.
