Promoting Health and Wellbeing
ALISS (A Local Information System for Scotland) is a national, digital system that helps communities work together to find and share information about local groups, organisations, activities and services that can support health and wellbeing. ALISS is funded by the Scottish Government and managed by the Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (the ALLIANCE) so is completely free to use for anyone wishing to add or search for information. Volunteers will help you to navigate this database at the community drop-in sessions.
In the consultation about the Byres Road Hub, ‘Information about health and wellbeing services in communities’ was one of the top priorities for participants who also identified the issue of ‘digital exclusion in some areas and among some groups’, therefore felt that having a ‘drop-in space where people can access information was seen as important’. This new initiative is the response to that consultation and it will be supported by a free hub laptop loaning.
