Refugee Festival Scotland 2025 - Milestones

Runs from 13 – 22 June, 2025

This year marks 25 years of the festival, and the Scottish Refugee Council’s 40th – who are immensely proud to be organising a national march as part of the festival.

The festival comes as we see an alarming rise in support for racist and far-right ideas – across the world, and also here in Scotland.

At least 82 people, including 14 children, died trying to cross the Channel in 2024. Meanwhile, the British government is boasting record deportation numbers and adopting the hostile language of the far-right by talking about an ‘island of strangers’.

Refugees and migrants are the lifeblood of the NHS, the care system and other public services we all depend on, and are an integral part of our communities, workplaces and families. Refugees and migrants are part of the fightback for a better society.

Support the #LiftTheBan campaign to grant asylum seekers the right to work
Show that we won’t be divided by racism and that together we will demand change
