Safar film festival

The UK’s largest festival of Arab cinema comes to Glasgow Film Theatre for the first time, showcasing three fantastic new films from Algeria, Morocco and Palestine: The Last Queen, The Damned Don’t Cry + Q&A with director Fyzal Boulifa and Alam (The Flag) — plus a free family-friendly screening of the beautifully animated Dounia and the Princess of Aleppo.

SAFAR – which means ‘journey’ in Arabic – was founded in 2012 and is run by The Arab British Centre. This year’s festival, entitled A Journey Through Space and Time, screens in nine cities across the UK from 29 June to 9 July.

SAFAR is presented in partnership with the Shubbak Festival and is supported by the British Council, the Bagri Foundation and the City of London Corporation. It screens in 4 venues across London and 8 other cities across the UK. Safar Festival Website
