The Teacher

British-Palestinian Farah Nabulsi – who won a BAFTA for her short film The Present – returns to the West Bank for her powerful debut feature, inspired by true events. Saleh Bakri (Wajib, The Blue Caftan) plays Basem, a teacher whose student Adam (Muhammad Abed El Rahman) becomes bent on revenge. Whilst trying to keep Adam out of trouble with the help of volunteer worker Lisa (Imogen Poots), Basem is also engaged in a dangerous act of resistance. Nabulsi paints a portrait of the complex situation in the West Bank, showing that there are no easy answers.
English and Arabic with English subtitles.
