25 – 31 March, 2016
The director of Tony Manero and No turns his attention to the sins of the Catholic Church in the angry, compelling The Club. Guilty of ‘straying from the path of sanctity’, four Catholic clergymen have been exiled to a seaside monastery and the care of Sister Monica (Antonia Zegers). Their idyll begins to sour with the arrival of Father Lazcano (José Soza) and the subsequent appearance of a stranger making accusations that he was abused as a child. The fear of scandal prompts the church to send pious young Father García (Marcelo Alonso) to investigate the fallen fathers.
