Eddie the Eagle, GFT 1 – 14 April, 2016.

Taron Egerton and Hugh Jackman in the infamous British ski story.
Friday 1 – Thursday 14 April
Running time: 1h46m
Eddie Edwards did not have the background to become an Olympian. Near-sighted, accident-prone and from a poor family, he was constantly reminded that he did not have the right qualities for an international athlete. Yet, through dogged perseverance he became the first competitor to represent Great Britain in Olympic ski jumping at the 1988 Calgary Winter Games. Sunshine on Leith director Dexter Fletcher’s adaptation of his inspirational story features a charming lead performance from Taron Egerton, and a hilarious turn from Hugh Jackman as the disgraced former Olympian who teaches Eddie to soar like an eagle.
