Fukushima Mon Amour, GFT
24 January, 2018
Marie escapes to Fukushima in a bid to change her life. Volunteering, she strives to bring joy to survivors of the 2011 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster that devastated the region. Marie stays with Satomi, the last geisha of Fukushima, who has decided to travel back to her destroyed house in the former radioactive exclusion zone. The two women couldn’t be more different, but each is trapped in the past, and must learn to find liberation from guilt and the burden of memory.
