17th Mar 2018 • 6:30PM – 7:30PM
Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, 2 Sauchiehall St, Glasgow G2 3NY
Join the distinguished judges of Ian Bell New Writing Award for a discussion on the need for good journalism (never more so than in these turbulent, confusing times) with the inaugural winner of the prize.
Ian Bell was a radical journalist and author who wrote columns and leaders for the Herald and Sunday Herald until his death, aged only 59 in 2015. During his career he won the Orwell Prize for political journalism and was named Columnist of the Year on several occasions. In his memory the NUJ and The Bell Family have sponsored a new award for young journalists in Scotland.
