Young Scotland: A Debate On Independence
Sat 8 Feb 2014 | 2pm (1 hour 30 mins) | Free but ticketed
Yes, no or irrelevant: what do young Scots make of the independence debate so far?
Youth unemployment, low pay, student debt, unaffordable housing… There are big challenges ahead for young people, but are your views being reflected by the politicians who are arguing over the rights and wrongs of independence? And in the age of social media, is the debate being conducted in a way that feels in tune with contemporary culture?
To address these and other issues, the Sunday Herald and The Arches have joined together to give young people an opportunity to discuss the independence question within a relaxed, lively and entertaining setting. Broadcaster, musician and author Vic Galloway will chair the event, and panelists will include Dave Hook (Solareye) from Stanley Odd and Dave Clarke, founder of Soma Records and promoter of one of The Arches’ biggest club nights, Pressure.
Homemade pizza and refreshments will be provided.
This event is free but ticketed – to reserve yours now from The Arches Box Office please call 0141 565 1000, visit us at 253 Argyle Street or book online here.
