Zoolander
Southside Film Festival
Govanhill Baths Community Trust
Friday, 11 March, 2016
7 PM – 9 PM
After being eclipsed by rising star Hansel (Owen Wilson), dim-witted male supermodel Derek Zoolander (Stiller) gets drawn into the inner circle of nefarious fashion designer Jacobim Magatu (Will Ferrell), and unwittingly becomes involved in an assassination conspiracy against the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Teaming up with Hansel, Derek finds himself in a race to stop the plot before it’s too late.
When released in 2001, Ben Stiller unleashed one of his most memorable characters in this zany satire of the fashion industry. Zoolander is a wacky and energetic spoof bursting with unforgettably ridiculous performances, and with the sequel set to hit cinemas early 2016, come and see where the look began. Bring your best ‘Blue Steel’.
